Why the Haka?
I chose to research and learn more about this form of dance because I've seen it performed a handful of times before rugby games, although I've never known anything about it. It definitely interested me the few occasions I watched it executed. It was performed with such unrestrained emotion and intensity while also possessing the qualities of discipline and uniformity. Watching it, while actually knowing nothing about it, still got me psyched and made me want to go play rugby. Just thinking about having a part in a Ka Mate haka gets me fired up. It would, without question, be a great thrill to perform one in a packed stadium like the members of New Zealand's international rugby team are luckily privileged enough to do. Having performed the dance myself in addition to learning much more about it through research, I can clearly see that the Maori tribes of New Zealand were ferocious, fearless and brave. They possessed a fierce, warrior mentality.
